Product Description
This fine Great Western Railway Copper case track circuit repeater is one of the more rarer instrument manufactured by R.E.Thompso & Co, My opinion is when the outer cases are made they are finished by spinning. Firstly a flat peice of copper is cut and rolled the silver soldered, its then mounted on to a spinning tool block in a special type of lathe. The operator uses a long type of chisel with a ball end which is held against a tool post, the end of the tool is forced against the overhang of copper cylinder which bends around the tool block forming a bead. This instrument is in excellent tested working order.
