This B.R. W.R. Annetts key release instrument would have been used for releasing a ground frame using a bronze key held locked in the instrument. The key would be released from the controlling signal box, this example was modified by the railways so as to be able to release the ground frame key by the S & T dept during engineering would. This example was fully overhauled ready for use and comes complete with 2 keys.
