This is a G.W.R. signal box cleaning cabinet and locker which was use for the storage of all the products to keep the box spick and span, these ranged from floor wax polish, grate polish, brasso, cleaning cloths and old newspapers to protect the floor. I seldom come across signal box furniture but these cleaning cabinets are more scarce than booking desks! This example is in ex box condition and has the B.R. blue paint which lasted up till the 1980s. The Zinc lining tray is present and the cabinet is in usable condition.
