A G.W.R. Ivorine shelf plate " TRENANCE JUNCTION" from Trenance Sidings Signal Box, these early plates were made from a new type of plastic of the day which included Nitro-Cellouse and Champhor. This material was prone to warping, discolouring in some cases brittle, a new material called "Traffolite" eventually replaced Ivorine. This plate was mounted under the block bell and was 1 of a set of 3.
This example is in excellent ex signal box condition and measures 4 3.4" X 1 1/2".
