A Great Western Railway steel single line key dating from 1924 when Severn Beach signal box opened, the line opened on the 1st Feburary 1900 and ran from Avonmouth to Pilning Branch Box, Severn Beach had become popular as a tourist destination so the G.W.R. built an station here to transport the huge numbers of passengers which visited. This key has Alloy plates rivetted both sides and are held on with copper rivets.
