TINTERN SHOP UPDATE, 20 APRIL 2021
This weekend at Tintern was cold but sunny weather so Gosia and I decided to do some shop work. Gosia was very busy sanding down wood paneling then cleaning up. I was busy building a shop counter, trips to B & Q for materials were also done.
The budget is getting used up quickly now and Tuesday the glaziers are coming to fit new glass in line with latest shop building regulations. Thursday telephone and internet line is being installed then we can get the security and CCTV fitted. We are hoping to open in mid June which will be perfect timing with the easing of lockdown measures.
This was the shop about 2 weeks ago after refurbishment work outside was completed, the signage will be applied over the coming weeks.
This was todays scene......beautiful Tintern and the river Wye.
View from the seating area tables of the Rose and Crown pub , our next door neighbors !
A view of the old Railway bridge where a line used to serve the Wire works and foundries in Tintern, its now a footpath and cycle track. On this side of the bridge is Abbey Mill which is well work a visit, they have amazing craft and gift shops and serve excellent food too. You can even buy an ice cream and sit next to the wier and see the restored working water wheel. Chris and Shelley own and run this scenic center with Kirsty and the staff. The food is outstanding !!
Our shop is very busy with building and painting, we have an amazing view from our window of this picturesque village and scenery.
Not my best picture but Im very happy working on our new shop, building the new shop counter in the background, notice my Arkwright coat !!
