Product Description
This rare lamp is a special flame proof type of safety lamp and was used in a number of locations such as on munitions trains, gas works, tunnel examination and places where highly flammable products were stored. This lamp is so designed that if it were to fall to the ground it would not emit naked flames. The brass hinge and reservior are both stamped G W R. This lamp dates from around 1880s to 1900s.
