A Great Western Railway 1947 pattern block indicator, these instruments were designed as a replacement for the Spagnoletti block which had given excellent service for over 80 years. Many of these blocks were produced for their G.W.R. by their contractor, R.E.Thompson & Co dark but this is a G.W.R. example made at the signal works, Reading. This instrument has been tested is complete in ex railway service condition and working order.
