A Great Western Railway early pattern single pegging "Spagnoletti" block instrument, its an early pattern because all the fittings for the slide wire are individually mounted on the case case. The later blocks were large castings with reminder flaps and slide bushes cast in, not so attractive. This instrument is in ex railway service condition and in tested working order, G.W.R. stamped in the movement and the case has a lovely patina. This example has a white face indication an "UP" block, down blocks are green.
