RA 8072 CAST BRASS GLOUCESTER RAILWAY CARRIAGE & WAGON COMPANY MAKERS PLATE.

A cast brass Gloucester Railway carriage & wagon company makers plate, these cast brass plates are much rare than the cast iron examples and much more ornate.  This plate has had a matching piece of cast brass plate Silver soldered  into the left hand end surrounding the bolt hole. This has been done very well and make the plate displayable . This plate measures  8 5/8" X  6 1/4". These plates were fitted to DMUs and green paint on the back is of the colour that early British Railways DMUs wore.
