A British Railways Eastern Region standard pattern locomotive gauge frame lamp, this lamp would have been positioned on a bracket next to the boiler water gauge frame, Its purpose was to illuminate the gauge glass at night time to allow the firemen to see the boiler water level. This lamp is in ex loco condition.
