This is the best example of the classic Great Northern Railway single needle block telegraph instrument, not only is this in amazing condition it still has its Telegraph code card with some great destinations. The most famous one is LITTLE BYTHAM where on 3rd July 1938 Gresley streamlined pacific MALLARD achieved 126 mph on Stoke Bank between Little Bytham and Essendine setting the unbroken world speed record! Great thought to think this instrument was probably used i communicating the locomotives progress. This instrument is in full working order and is stamped "G.N.R TELE" in the top if the case.
