RA 8660 CAST IRON "RAILWAY EXECUTIVE ENGINES MUST NOT PASS THIS SIGN" NOTICE

The Railway Executive Committee (REC) was formed in 1912 to act as an intermediary between the War office and the various British Railway companies and was effective between 1914 and 1921. It was reformed in 1938 due to the outbreak of WW2 and lasted till 1948 when the railways were nationalised. This sign is in completely ex lineside condition and was recovered from BARRY DOCKS, signs with the words ENGINES are also of interest. This sign measures 21 1/4" X 14 1/4"
