A Great Western Railway brass track circuit repeater manufactured exclusively by R.E.Thompson & Co, these fine instruments were introduced in the early 1920s and is example is from this period. The give away to these early examples is the vertical Nickle plated support bar which has a ruby jewel fitted to reduce friction and the hand painted face. These were superior instruments and lasted up to later 1960s when they were replaced with cheaper Bakelite versions. This example has its original Ivorine label.
