This signal box nameboard was recovered from Kelmarsh signal box upon closure by the vendors father who was a relief signalman and who worked many boxes in the Northampton area. The backboard is made from heavy wood with cast iron letters, this plate was restored many years ago and the are two small areas where the wood has decayed a little but not noticeable from the front. The plate measures approximately 48" x 9". In the picture of the box you can make out where the plate was fixed above the window!
