Heres a first class example of an early Great Western Railway "split case" block bell, the split case refers to the removable front portions of the instrument case. This idea in practice proved to be more trouble than it was worth as the lineman would always remove the whole top bell case. Because of this most were converted having all the parts removed so here is a rare survivor! This instrument is in exceptional condition and has its brass turned stem with G.W.R. stamped into the front. All tested and in full working order.
