A large steel Webb-Thompson train staff with brass plates CRAUGHWELL-ATHENRY, a station existed in the town (originally on the Waterford,Limerick and Westetrn Railway) from the mid-19th century, until the closure to passengers of the line from Ennis-Athenry in 1976. This staff is a `B` configuration and measures 23" in length.
