During the locos live it had been involved in some sort of collision resulting in the smokebox door and numberplate being damaged. The numberplate was welded by British Railways workshops and is an amazing job and is hardly visible, the front and back are in unrestored condition. The BRS triangle and "A" Ashford markings are clearly visible.
