Product Description
These G.W.R. brass detonator plates were made oval to distinguish them from all the other levers in the signal box as these were emergency levers. When operated a detonator or "shot" was ejected from a small machine bolted to the outside of the rail and was put on to the rail head, when a train passed over it the detonator it exploded warning the driver causing him to stop his train or in the case of a distant signal during fog working telling him the signal is at caution.
