A Great Western Railway brass electric lock release plunger, this item was in use in a lineside Gangers hut equipped with a Gangers key release instrument. This system allowed for a Ganger to withdraw a special brass key allowing him possesion of the single line to carry out maintainence as required, one this key was withdraw from the instrument the signale line key token system was disabled preventing the signalmaen to withdraw token keys. This plunger is in ex Gangers hut condition and was recovered along with the key release instrument which is being sold seperatley.
